AUTUMN SEMESTER 2020

The autumn semester 2020 begins on 24 September 2020 and ends on 3 February 2021.

NEW REGISTRATIONS ARE DONE IN TWO STEPS:

I. ADMISSION AND ORIENTATION

If you have not taken a Chinese course this semester or the previous one, you need to take an orientation interview to assess your level. Interviews are by appointment only

  • Create an admission file via MyINL>
  • Choose « Chinese » and a level.
  • If an appointment is available, make an appointment for an interview.
II. REGISTRATION 
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

As of the autumn semester 2020, the INL offers a Dutch course for beginners (A1):

19:00-20:40 Tuesday & Thursday Registration fee: 200€

 

  • Create an admission file via MyINL>
  • Choose « Dutch » and « beginner »
  • If a spot is available, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to proceed to the payment of the registration fee.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline: by credit card or by bank transfer.
    The necessary data will be available on your MyINL account, under the tab “Cours”.
  • Print the confirmation of enrolment (tab “Cours”).

If you have not taken an English course this semester or the previous one, you need to take an orientation interview to assess your level. Interviews are by appointment only.

  • Make an appointment for an interview.
II. REGISTRATION
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

Case A : French Non-beginner
I. ADMISSION, PRE-TEST AND ORIENTATION

If you have not taken a French course this semester or the previous one, you need to take an orientation interview to assess your level. Interviews are by appointment only.

  • Create an admission file via MyINL>.
  • Choose « French » and « non-beginner ».
  • If an appointment is available, do the online pre-test.
  • Make an appointment for an interview.
II. REGISTRATION
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

 

Case B : Français Complete Beginner (A1.1 GR)
I. ADMISSION, PRE-TEST AND ORIENTATION

You are a complete beginner if the following statements are true for you:
– you don´t know any French at all.
– your mother tongue is not closely related to French (e.g. Arabic or Mandarin Chinese).
– you don´t speak any foreign language but you know the Latin alphabet.

If this is the case for you, you need to follow these steps:

  • Create an admission file via MyINL>.
  • Choose « French » and « non-beginner ».
  • If an appointment is available, do the online pre-test.
  • Make an appointment for an interview.
II. REGISTRATION 
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

 

Case C : Français beginner (A1.1)

You are a beginner in French if the following statements apply to you:
– you have never taken a French course.
– apart from some isolated phrases, such as ‘Bonjour’ or ‘Au revoir’, you don´t understand or speak French.
– you cannot give personal information (name, address, nationality, age, work, hobbies, …) in French.
– you do not know how to say dates or numbers in French.
– you know the Latin alphabet.

If at least one of these statements does not apply to you, you are no longer considered a beginner in French. Please follow the application procedure outlined in ‘Case A’.
If you are not sure about your current French level, please follow the procedure outlined in ‘Case A’ and make an appointment to assess your level.

If you have chosen ‘French Beginner’:

I. ADMISSION AND ORIENTATION
  • Create an admission file via MyINL>.
  • Choose « French » and « beginner ».

You will automatically receive a voucher (‘bon d´inscription’) for the next term. This means you do not have to attend an evaluation interview. You will receive further information regarding the online registration via email in due time.

II. ONLINE REGISTRATION VIA MYINL
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

Case A : Luxembourgish non-beginner
I. ADMISSION, PRE-TEST AND ORIENTATION

If you have not taken a Luxembourgish course this semester or the previous one, you need to take an orientation interview to assess your level. Interviews are by appointment only.

  • Create an admission file via MyINL>.
  • Choose « Luxembourgish » and « non-beginner ».
  • If an appointment is available, do the online pre-test.
  • Make an appointment for an interview.
II. REGISTRATION
  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
  • Pay the registration fee within the given deadline.

 

Case B : Luxembourgish beginner (A1)

You are a beginner in Luxembourgish if the majority of the following statements apply to you:
– you have never taken a Luxembourgish course or haven´t for several years.
– apart from some isolated phrases, such as ‘Moien’ or ‘Äddi’, you don´t understand or speak Luxembourgish. You currently cannot communicate in complete sentences in Luxembourgish.
– you cannot give personal information (name, address, nationality, age, …) in Luxembourgish or ask questions to receive this information.
– you do not know how to say dates or numbers in Luxembourgish.
– you cannot describe your work or free-time activities in simple sentences in Luxembourgish.

If the majority of these statements do not apply to you, you are no longer considered a beginner in Luxembourgish. Please follow the application procedure outlined in ‘Case A’.

If you are not sure about your current Luxembourgish level, please follow the procedure outlined in ‘Case A’ and make an appointment to assess your level.

If you have chosen ‘Luxembourgish Beginner’:

I. ADMISSION AND ORIENTATION
  • Create an admission file via MyINL>.
  • Choose « Luxembourgish » and « beginner ».

You will automatically receive a voucher (‘bon d’inscription’) for the next term. This means you do not have to attend an evaluation interview. You will receive further information regarding the online registration via email in due time.

  • Register for one or more of the available classes.
